Leaving Cert French, German and Spanish (MFL) at Mercy College allows students to deepen their understanding of the target language (TL) while developing stronger fluency and accuracy across all areas. Students explore more complex topics such as current affairs, society and culture while preparing for oral, aural and written examinations. The subject is enriched through cultural immersion, including TL films, breakfasts and engagement with language assistants who support conversation practice and pronunciation. School exchanges and educational tours give students valuable opportunities to experience life in TL speaking environments, helping them build confidence and independence while strengthening their appreciation of the language and culture.
