At Mercy College Junior Cycle French, German and Spanish (MFL) introduces students to the target language (TL) in a fun and engaging way, focusing on communication, listening, reading and writing skills. Students build confidence through classroom activities, pair work and interactive learning that helps them use French in everyday situations. The department also brings language learning to life through cultural experiences such as TL films, a traditional breakfasts and opportunities to hear visiting language assistants who help students improve their speaking skills. Many students also take part in exchanges and school tours, which allow them to experience TL culture first hand and use their language skills in real life settings.
