History
At Mercy College Junior Cycle History gives students the opportunity to explore the stories, people and events that shaped Ireland and the wider world. Through discussion, source analysis, group activities and CBA projects, students learn how historians investigate the past and understand why history still matters today. The subject encourages curiosity, independent thinking and confidence in expressing ideas while helping students develop valuable skills in literacy, communication and critical analysis. Students are encouraged to engage actively with history in a supportive classroom environment where learning is both challenging and enjoyable.
