Assessment for each subject varies according to the subject and teacher. All assessment is deadline based. Students are assessed using a variety of methods, such as projects, posters, powerpoint presentations, film and uploading podcasts. This approach is used in tandem with regular assignments as a method of ensuring students take ownership of their learning and to prepare them for the world of work. Students will upload pieces of work from throughout the year to assemble an Online Transition Year portfolio. Students will also produce a Memory Book of Transition Year.

Students are tested in November and May in Irish, English, Maths and Language

There is an End of Year ceremony is in Mercy College.  Students are presented certificates which are graded Distinction, Merit, Achieved, and Partially Achieved.
