Sports

We place great emphasis on this side of College life, believing that participation in a wide range of activities beyond the classroom will develop a student’s talents and interests and present opportunities for enjoyment, freedom and challenge which will enrich her both at College and beyond.

Basketball

Since 1967 basketball has been firmly embedded in the culture of Mercy College.Mercy College teams have won:

• European titles
• All Ireland titles
• All Ireland finalists

Mercy girls have featured on national teams

Hockey

Our hockey teams have had very successful years reaching the Connacht final each year.

Soccer

Established in 2002 and continues to thrive. There are teams at first year U-14,U-16 and U-18 levels. U-16 team reached Connacht finals twice. The school is represented on National teams.

Gaelic Football

Gaelic is thriving in the college. The senior team won the Connacht ‘S’ Championships. The junior team reached the ‘C’ semi final and the quarter finals

Athletics

Mercy College enters three competitions annually, Combined Events, Cross Country and Track and Field.
